Onshore Cable Project Support Engineer

A Renewable Energy client is looking for an Onshore Cable Project Support Engineer for an offshore wind farm project. This Onshore Cable Engineer will be based at the HQ offices for the initial part of the contract and then transition to the onshore cable works site in South UK. This role has an immediate start with a 12 months' initial contract duration.

WORK ROLE:

The primary function of the role is to manage the HDD contract and to provide project engineering support to the Onshore Cable Package Manager in performing duties such as:-

- Coordination and reporting of the HDD package progress
- Coordination and preparation for project and technical meetings
- Preparation and submission of Meeting Minutes and technical notes
- Coordination and expediting of the engineering team's technical review of Contractor's design documents
- Preparation and production of letters and communications with the Contractor
- Preparation and production of internal progress report
- Take on delegation of responsibilities for the Onshore Cables package during holidays and periods of absence
- Support with claim mitigation and document compilation from the Electronic Document Management System
- Perform reviews of Contract programme revisions
- Maintain a list of package risks on the Project Risk Register
- Coordinate and finalise with Contractors the package interface list

CANDIDATE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- HDD work and Onshore Cable engineering experience are must haves
- Have a working knowledge of construction project life cycle and the requirements for internal/external reporting
- Ideally would have electrical/civil engineering background
- Have a proven track record of working in teams and delivering joint goals
- Must be self starting, motivated
- Must be proficient with IT equipment and efficient with Microsoft office packages including spreadsheets, word processing, access database and presentation
- Must be an excellent communicator, confident to deliver presentations and communicate to wider team.
