Online Portal Design Manager

The Online Portal Design Manager is a key position where the manager will lead a team of design and development engineers in the delivery of both external and internal facing Online functionality. The manager will ensure that commercial objectives are fully supported through the successful design & delivery of solutions.

Accountabilities
* Introduction and review of processes, standards, strategies and methodologies related to high and low level design
Engage, as appropriate, in the technical assessment with Service Design & with Technology Engagement Business Consultants
Participate in governance steering & post investment reviews to ensure best design practice & most cost effective solution were implemented
* Proactively develop and maintain strong relationships with key business & technology stakeholders
* Work closely with strategic vendors, adopting a partnership approach and intelligently getting the best out of the vendors for the client's benefit.

Skills Required:
* Strong understanding of web application architecture and platforms (Apache, Tomcat, JBOSS), Strong understanding of Web Services
* Strong understanding of Web Development technologies, in particular J2EE (Spring, MVC patterns etc)
* Familiarity with:
* SSO Frameworks
* Content Management Systems
* Database Technologies (MSSQL, MySQL)
* High-availability clustering (Application Server, Database etc)
* Management of team of 5-6 members
* Performance management and personal development plans for team members
* Explain complex technical issues to non-technical audience
