OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN - OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH, FIRST AID AT WORK, NURSING ASSISTANT, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH REPORTS, HEALTH SCREENING

An Occupational Health Technician with Occupational Health, First Aid at work, Nursing Assistant, Occupational Health Reports, Health Screening skills/experience is required to work on a twelve month contract with the possibility of extension for our Defence client based in Preston.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our clients' team in the role of Occupational Health Technician. The post holder will support the delivery of the Occupational Health Service for our Client's employees by providing comprehensive health screening and clinical support services to the Occupational Health team.

OVERVIEW OF THE RECRUITMENT PROJECT MANAGER CONTRACT ROLE

The post holder will support the development and delivery of Our Client's Wellbeing Strategy and will assist in the development of the service, occupational health policies and procedures within the Occupational Health Department in conjunction with Nurses, Health Advisors, Physiotherapist and Occupational Health Physician.

Under the direction of the Occupational Health Practice Manager, the post holder will:

- Assist in delivering an effective Occupational Health service to all employees
- Carry out Health Screening
- Test for all Site Health Surveillance, for example HAVS, Audiometry, Respiratory, ECG, Venepuncture, etc.
- General medicals will include for example Overseas, Aircrew and Firefighters
- Visual Display Unit eye screening checks
- Support and assist in maintaining the smooth operation of the Occupational Health Department
- Responsible for purchasing and maintaining occupational health supplies and stock

OTHER DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

- Maintaining and inputting data into Occupational Health systems in line with agreed
- processes
- Compose, produce and send out clear and concise occupational health reports, letters
- and other correspondence as required
- Contacting employees and potential employees in a courteous and professional manner to arrange consultations as required
- Effectively manage medical records in line with relevant Data Protection legislation and Access to Medical Records Report Act 1990
- Filing, photocopying and scanning Occupational Health reports, letters and other correspondence and saving them into case files as required
- Professionally dealing with messages, ensuring all urgent communications are dealt with efficiently
- Attending monthly Occupational Health meetings

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE OCCUPATIONAL TECHNICIAN

- NVQ in Nursing Assistant or occupational health technician qualification
- First Aid at work certificate is essential
- Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Evidence of previous occupational health experience in a similar setting
- Knowledge of occupational health policies and procedures
- Time management skills
- Flexible approach and attitude to work
- Ability to deal with a range of people politely and appropriately, some of whom may be persistent or difficult
- Excellent and confident telephone manner
- Diary management
- Good interpersonal skills, both oral and written
- Good organisational skills

The role is based in Lancashire - commutable from Preston, Blackpool, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool, Lancaster and Leeds
