Occupational Health Nurse

JOB DUTIES:

- Maintain employee medical records using online records management system.
- Ensure compliance to HIPAA regulation and ensure all documentation is accurate, complete and concise.
- Initiate Workers' Compensation claims with 3rd party insurer.
- Review all work related injury/illness cases to determine recordability as per OSHA Record keeping Standard 29 CFR 1904.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of OSHA recordable cases in ' online record keeping system.
- Perform ergonomic work station assessments upon request and/or upon the reporting of a work related MSD.
- Enter assessment findings in internal online system.
- Respond and provide prompt and appropriate first aid and medical referrals to associates who may be ill or injured.
- Perform monthly AED inspections and document in online inspection system.
- Review medical accommodation requests and determine need for any additional medical substantiation.
- Follow up with employee's healthcare provider as needed to clarify accommodation or restrictions.
- Collaborate with the employee and manager to facilitate the accommodation process.
- Maintain the Occupational Health clinic in a clean, neat and organized manner.
- Clean and disinfect the treatment areas and work surfaces on a regular basis and disinfected between treatments.

SKILLS:

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

- Emergency Medical Response Procedures
- Computer skills
- OSHA Record keeping
- Ergonomics
- Worked in the commercial space (not just home nurse) as well as having experience in the Occupation Health space.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Current Registered Nurse
- Certified in Basic Life Support
