Nurse Practitioner - Family Prac

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Nurse Practitioner FP is a licensed professional who will function independently, but provide care under the supervision of the Urgicare Medical Director. They will plan, implement and evaluate treatment in accordance with patient care standards and physician order, as applicable. They will act as a liaison between the physician, patient and family, and collaborates with other health care professionals as appropriate. They may assist in the orientation of new employees, and may participate in hospital or department committees. They must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age groups, according to specific chronological age, developmental age and/or psycho-social maturity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: State of Ohio graduate of an accredited school of nursing

REQUIRED LENGTH AND TYPE OF EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a physician office or hospital setting (experience in clinic setting a plus); Clinical skills required will be dictated by scope of services offered. Must have strong organizational and communication skills, with the general public, in person and on the telephone

REQUIRED LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRY: Current licensure by the Ohio State Board of Nursing

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Participates in patient education, regarding their condition, treatment and follow-up

2. Follows hospital guidelines regarding patient/customer satisfaction

3. Provides quality, efficient patient care, including documentation, diagnostics and interpretation of test results, treatment regimes as indicated, and discharge instructions

4. Provides age-specific care for patients served

5. Provides safe medication administration

6. Provides on-site supervision of all clinic personnel

7. Functions as a liaison between patients, their physicians and families, and Southwest General administrative, professional and clinical personnel

8. Regularly reviews and updates all policies and procedures

9. Manages the daily operations of the clinic, including scheduling, ordering supplies, accountability as required by the Clinical Manager

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards; Provides all customers of Southwest General Health Center with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our Standards of Performance each and every day
