POSITION: Nuclear Safety Assurance
JOB TYPE: Contract (11 Months Initially)
SKILLS: Safety cases, submarine NSRP system design, nuclear safety documentation
LOCATION: Cumbria easily commutable from Lancaster, Barrow in Furness, Morecombe and with excellent access from The Lake District
RATE: £43.89 per hour

OUTSOURCE UK LTD IS ACTIVELY SEEKING TO RECRUIT A NUCLEAR SAFETY ASSURANCE FOR A CONTRACT ROLE ON BEHALF OF A CLIENT.

THE CLIENT:
A leading Engineering and Defence organisation

THE JOB:
The successful Nuclear Safety Assurance candidate will be responsible for the following:
Under supervision from the Nuclear Safety Case Coordination Manager or the Safety Assurance Manager:
To author Nuclear Safety Case NSRP documentation for inclusion on the Astute and TLSC Live Files, and support to review of documentation by the MoD customers leading to NRPA approval.
Review of Government provided Safety Case documentation ('Intelligent Customer Review')
Resolution of INSA Concerns raise against issued documentation.
Liaison with RR CFBU, RR Live File Team and SRD with regard to agreement to, and appropriate location of, documents on the Astute Live File.
Author APNSC maturity statements in support of Hold Point release as required by the applicable Management Expectations document (MED)
Produce the Nuclear Safety Substantiation for Boat 4+ design changes introduced as a consequence of continuous improvement programmes.
Support to assessment of Nuclear Safety significance and APNSC impact of changes to the submarine design intent (ECRs/ECPs etc.) or deviations from the design intent (defects and concessions).
Production and amendment of Process Instructions to reflect current and future ways of working.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
NSRP Nuclear Safety documentation (APNSC & TLSC Reports and INSA Responses).
Intelligent Customer Review Reports
Technical Issues Meeting (TIM) Minutes.
APNSC Maturity Statements.
Non-LF safety and technical documents ie Strategy Documentation/Confidence Statements etc/Design Change impact assessments.
DA Nuclear Safety Process Instructions.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE
Degree level education in a relevant engineering or science discipline or equivalent
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels through oral and written briefings and technical reports
Knowledge of understanding process requirements for nuclear safety documentation
