Nuclear Fleet Certified Instructor

EDF Energy are seeking applications for an experienced Fleet Certified Instructor, to work as part of the Continuous Improvement and Operational Support Group. The team is committed to support the improvement in organisational and individual performance through the enhancement of skills based upon the Systematic Approach to Training.

Central Technical Training delivers high quality training across a broad range of topics which support the operations, engineering and maintenance of the existing nuclear fleet. You will have the opportunity to make a major impact on the performance of the organisation through the analysis, design and delivery of effective training interventions and through working closely with business units to assist in the effective management of change and performance improvement.

Key Tasks/Responsibilities: ·

The provision of a service which includes analysis, design, implementation and evaluation of training to meet customer needs effectively

Development and delivery of initial training over a range of technical subjects, covering the fundamental knowledge requirements of the operations, engineering and maintenance training programmes.

Liaison with fleet training departments as a subject matter expert for operations/ maintenance technician and associated training.

Fully contribute to the objectives of Central Technical Training in support of the achievement of the business unit and Company organisational goals.

You will ideally have recent power station experience, with a good understanding of Power Station processes and technology or experience of working in the Nuclear Industry or a comparable safety critical engineering environment.

Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential with the you being capable of working under minimum supervision.

Experience in an instructional role or in the application of a systematic approach to training process would be an advantage although training will be given in these areas.

You may be required by the company to undertake a role in the emergency scheme.

As a minimum, applicants will have a relevant HNC (or equivalent). Candidates with an engineering degree may have an advantage. A teaching/learning qualification is desirable though not essential.
