Nuclear Design Engineer Job

NUCLEAR DESIGN ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in AVON, MA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Develop domain expertise in Masoneilan product and custom control valve design development. Develop nuclear industry related engineering design & validation documentation (ASME Design reports, Seismic & Weak Link reports).
- Work with Field Service and the nuclear team Lead Engineer to support potential installed product issues for customers, complying with NRC and CFR Part 21B regulations.
- Support continuous improvement for on-time delivery and engineering quality.
- Support company compliance initiatives and drive completion of training requirements within work group.
- Support the Nuclear Engineering team leader in representing the department during industry and customer audits.
- Provide technical support to Manufacturing/Quality/ComOpps as required.
- Experience with ASME Section III Non-Conformance (NCA), NB and NC.
- Familiarity with ASME Section I and VIII and knowledge of ASME B16.34 code.
- Strong working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance as it relates to individual parts and overall assemblies (ANSI Y14.5).
- Knowledge of control valve design, instrumentation and actuation.
- Knowledge of engineering analysis methods & tools: FEA, Ansys, MathCad, Solidworks.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and energize a cross-functional team.
- Ability to identify and lead process & productivity improvement initiatives which impact profitability and competitiveness.
- Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs and industry trends.
- Knowledge of design for manufacturability, manufacturing processes, ERP and PLM systems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
- Three (3+) years of experience in a mechanical design role within the nuclear industry.
- Experience in mechanical design and related manufacturing and quality operations. Control valve or valve design or similar products.
- Be able to perform FEA (or capable of learning), knowledge of GD&T.
- Experience with ASME Section III Non-Conformance (NCA), NB and NC.
- Experience with: Solidworks, Ansys, MathCad (Desired)
