North Fringe to Hengrove Project Manager

This role has been released on a temporary basis initially for 6 months.

They are looking for a skilled and experienced Project Manager to cover the role on a short term interim basis whilst a permanent recruitment process is undertaken. It is expected that the successful candidate will be experienced in the planning and preparation of large construction projects using NEC contracts, preferably in transport and highways, with knowledge of the planning, procurement and statutory processes required to deliver such schemes. You will also have strong people management skills, with experience of managing and motivating multidisciplinary project teams consisting of local authority and consultancy staff. In addition you will be working closely with other Local Authority partners to agree delivery of the linked BRT across boundary. The role will also be responsible for ensuring that the project is progressed successfully to agreed quality, timescale and budget.

You should match the following criteria:

* Relevant degree (or equivalent professional qualification) and/or substantial senior management experience within the Construction sector.
* Project management and commercial experience/skills.
* Experience of working with statutory partners and with local communities to plan and deliver activity in response to identified need and local wishes.
* The post holder needs to be able to problem solve in a complex multi agency context.
* The post holder will need to take account of corporate policies and political impact in making decisions.
* Good understanding of transport legislation and statutory requirements.
* You will be expected to identify internal and external barriers to effective engagement or delivery, and to develop and implement approaches to resolve these.
