Nortel Passport Platform Engineer - Contract - Dublin - Mobile Telecoms

I am currently recruiting for an Engineer with a specialisation and expertise in Nortel Passport 7K and 20K including MDM AM, MDP PM and CLI CM tools. The engineer will also have knowledge of Radio Access Network (RAN), Base Transceiver Station (BTS), Node B, Radio Network Controller (RNC). In addition you will have ATM knowledge - good understanding of ATM protocols and experience of ATM product support for 3G RAN network.
*IuB Legacy ATM/TDM troubleshooting.
*PNNI network routing knowledge.
*VC switching knowledge.
*ATM RAN re-parenting experience.

To be considered for the role you will have familiarity with 1st and 2nd Line Network Operations Centre Fault Management, Alarm Monitoring and Configuration Management operational processes required

The role will involve;

*Co-ordinate with representatives of customers, contractors and subcontractors for any issues, plans and schedules the daily activities.
*Act as main point of contact with responsibility for operation, monitoring and fault management of Nortel Passport 7K and 20K platforms including MDM, MDP and CLI management system
*Check and monitor the performance of Nortel Passport 7K and 20K platforms and associated links and services
*Investigate and troubleshoot higher and lower level issues, resolve or initiate correct PR escalation
*Daily/Weekly and Monthly performance reporting
*First point of contact for any technical issues regarding the integration or operation of Nortel Passport 7K and 20
*Perform remote configuration of new services and circuits on Nortel Passport 7K and 20K
*Perform the optimisation and capacity management implementation on Nortel Passport 7K and 20K
*Identifying HW faults daily rate will be discussed on application.
