Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is the largest provider of mental health and substance misuse services in Derbyshire serving a population of around 1 million. In 2011, the Trust became the provider of Children's Universal and Specialist Services for Derby City and as part of the Transforming Community Services Programme, Community Paediatric Services and Substance Misuse Services also transferred into the organisation. With an annual turnover of £125m and a workforce of more than 2,300 staff, the Trust is committed to improving the mental health and physical wellbeing of the people of Derbyshire through the provision of high quality, customer focussed services.

We are looking to appoint two Non-Executive Directors to provide independent judgement and advice on issues of strategy, vision and performance. Post B is available to commence with immediate effect and Post A will be available from October 2014.The successful candidates will assist fellow directors in setting the Trust's strategic aims, ensure performance is effectively monitored and confidently challenged to gain assurance. You will be committed to encouraging within the Trust the highest standards of probity, integrity and governance to ensure the Trusts governance arrangements conform to best practice and statutory requirements.

The successful candidate for Post A will have commercial/ business experience in growth and strategy as well as previous Board level experience in a complex organisation. The successful candidate for Post B will have experience leading partnerships and collaborations across the local authority, voluntary or independent sector. They will share a commitment to quality healthcare services, including mental health and our Trust values. Candidates for both posts will be educated to degree level and will have the ability to plan their own time effectively to maximise their contribution to the organisation. The Trust would welcome candidates complying with either specification who have an experience of the services of this or a similar Trust. The time commitment for this role is two to three days per month.

All Non-Executive Directors are required to be public members of Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
