NOMINAL DESIGN FOR CS CORE
The nominal design for CS core network includes dimensioning of the network elements and topology design of the CS core network.
As far as IP site connectivity* is concerned, this Service Item covers also IP network topology, capacity requirements, transmission principles and type of equipments that will be used.
IP site connectivity for NSN CS Core, covers the IP connectivity of the CS Core Equipments, up to the first site Router (CE).
NOTE: this service item may require the support of IP Planning Expert for the site Routers relevant part.
Work item: Dimensioning revision
Target of the dimensioning is to make sure that network elements in CS core network and site connectivity Routers are able to carry the traffic that users create to the network.

To define the needed infrastructure
To define the capacity needed
To define the user plane and control plane requirements
To get the list of needed equipments, site connectivity Routers included
To get a high level topology and connectivity design defined

Assessment report or equivalent
Topology design carried out as a parallel task
Traffic Matrix
Parameters not yet included in the assessment report, but inherently required for dimensioning (eg average packet length, average signalling message length)
