NOC Services Technician Job

NOC SERVICES TECHNICIAN needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in FT. LEE, VA.

- Troubleshoot incidents
- Maintain the network

- Support onsite personnel on network components

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Providing shift work in support of monitoring a 24 x 7 x 365 Operations Center.
- Perform network monitoring with various network and security tools
- Monitor, detect, analyze, investigate, report, and track network or security related incidents
- Support generation of metrics and reporting on a regular basis
- Provides support with installing, troubleshooting and maintaining the network
- Proactively monitor and track down anomalies, non-compliant systems, and other observed events that are detrimental to the overall security posture of the IT infrastructure
- Performing additional tasks or duties as assigned
- Ensure all network configuration changes are performed in accordance with the Agency's Network Change Control Procedures
- Support on-site personnel in the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of network components, including (but not limited to) IP Routers, Ethernet Switches, and wireless access points, mounting hardware and antennas

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Minimum of one year of experience working in an operations center or in a technical environment in which the primary responsibility is remediation of incidents/events.
- Minimum of one year of experience with installations and technical support and with LAN/WAN in performing installations, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various network devices
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II - Security+ or equivalent
- CCNA required
- Additional Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge and experience with Remedy and NetCool
- Knowledgeable of the ieE.E. 802.11x standard for wireless networking systems, including encryption methods
- Familiarity with the use of terminal emulation and SSH client software
- Familiarity with using network management tools
- Demonstrated knowledge of IA and CND principles, concepts, and methodology
- Certified Ethical Hacker
- Knowledgeable of installation, configuration and monitoring of access control Servers, centralized Router and switch configuration management, and network management systems
- Knowledgeable of data link layer protocols including Frame-Relay, MPLS, HDLC, PPP and spanning tree and routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
- Knowledgeable of configuration of Dot1Q VLAN Trunking, Link Aggregation, Port Security and VLAN configuration
- Knowledgeable of server management, configuration of Routers, Switches, wireless access points, and wireless LAN controllers.
