NMS - OSS TECHNICAL CONSULTANT (NCE) - IMPLEMENTATION

Specific job details follow:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS  

Network Engineer responsible for delivering

- Implementation of NMS, translating design document to deployment.
- Design, develop, test and deploy NMS Products from Prime Suite (Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Cisco Prime LAN Management System (LMS), Prime Data Center Network Manager (DCNM), Cisco Prime Netcool, Cisco Prime Network, InfoVista product family)
- Write Technical Documentation: LLD, NSP, NRFU
- Install and Operate Cisco Prime Applications
- Design, develop, test and deploy NMS Products customization solutions for Service Provider customers
- Design NMS products (Prime Network, Prime Provisioning) customization guide documents based on low level network design documents working closely with technology groups and customer design departments
- Understand potential customer needs to define product customization packages
- Develop NMS products customization
- Generate standard project documentation including detailed test plans.
- Execute customization validation tests
- Build lab model environment
- Using AS tools and techniques (Version control, Release Management, Processes) ensure successful deployment of delivered solutions
- Support NMS Product Customization
- Provide Technical Support
- Provide customized support for resolving most complex problems and compatibility issues
- Interact with Cisco business units working on bug identification and resolution
- Provide guidance to the customer with the NB OSS systems integration
- Develop tool sets, scripts to facilitate the integration
- Deliver customer demos
- Write products customization best practice documents for Global AS Practices
- Develop test cases, run tests, and document results.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Typically requires BTech, MTech, BE, MS or equivalent (CS/EE preferred) plus 6-8 years related technical experience.
- Consulting Skills and Experience are required. 
- NMS/OSS engineering or an operations support environment.
- Knowledge of Cisco network management products from a broad perspective with a deep understanding of one or more specific network management products
- Cisco Prime Netcool (IBM Tivoli for Cisco Prime)
- Cisco Prime Infrastructure
- Cisco Prime LMS
- Cisco Data Center Network Manager (DCNM)
- Cisco Network Registrar
- InfoVista product family
- NMS/OSS design skills
- Good knowledge of FCAPS functionality
- Understanding of protocols employed in management of IP Networks such as SNMP, Syslog, Telnet/SSH, XML, HTTP and NTP
- Understanding of IP internetworking, routing protocols, LAN Switching, WAN protocols, and MPLS/VPN
- Knowledge in systems such as Solaris, Linux, Microsoft OS and complex application administration skills
- Knowledge in VMware configuration (ESXi, Vsphere)
- Knowledge of High Availability Solutions (Veritas)
- Skills in script development experience with one or more of Perl, Tcl, JavaScript, Sed, Awk and Unix Shell
- Ability to manage delivery of multiple complex projects ranging from system/solution integration to resolution of technical issues and operations process design

CONSULTING SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Excellent communications skills are a must. Skills and experience in working directly with customers, demonstrated ability to relate to customer representatives at various levels. 
- Must have good technical writing skills and have experience in writing high and low level designs (including drawings), test and implementation plans. 
- Skills and experience dealing with high pressure situations and quick changing circumstances 
- Skills and experience in working independently, determining methods and procedures on new assignments 
- Demonstrated ability to lead others in team. 
- Strong interpersonal and team work skills.             
- Ability to present, communicate the advantages of collaboration technologies to customers.
- Strong written, verbal and chalk board skills
- Ability to talk about contact center architecture, design and implementation strategies at high level or low level with customers and partners.
- Understands and can articulate the technical merits and value of Collaboration technologies
- Strong customer-interaction skills and architectural skills. 
- Proven ability to document appropriate technical information to serve as base for training, technical operations run books and knowledge objects.

CERTIFICATIONS EARNED

- CCIE R&S preferred

PUBLICATIONS AND DOCUMENTATION

Job would entail documentation of certain technical activities. Examples of any published or created documents would be helpful.

Language: English - Ability to communicate in written & oral English.

Security clearances, industry associations, technical certifications, etc. a plus

The location of this role is Nigeria

Ability to travel up to 70% of the time and especially around Southern Nigeria. Bonny Rivers state to be specific

Experience with African/Europe customers being onsite in customer locations.
