Knowledge, Skills & Experience

- Education level: Minimum of bachelor degree or equivalent
- Value added education: Relevant technical certifications, ideally of (eg Spectrum, ServAssure Advanced, Nagios, SevOne, Optical NMS)
- Good technical knowledge of cable and IP network technologies, cable company operations and IT solutions.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years related experience in a Service Provider environment
- Specific knowledge: Detailed knowledge in at least two of the following areas:
- Application management.
- Server management.
- Network management.
- Optical networking.
- IP Networking.
- Voice networking.

Extended experience in:

- Good Scripting and Programming of the customer facing production systems, including Shell, Perl and C, automating and streamlining routine maintenance tasks.
- Configuration and management of system platforms (preferably including Linux and Sun Solaris based equipment).
- Experience of NMS tooling, including Open Source applications.
- Working knowledge in debugging and analyses of complex issues within large scale NMS platforms.
- Broad and deep knowledge of infrastructure operations, architecture and engineering.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize workloads as situations change.
- Good interpersonal skills, excellent active listening skills.

- In depth knowledge of call management and call handling.
- Proven ability/experience working in a multi layered international Matrix organisation.
- People Skills - Experience with managing international teams (direct & indirect) from different cultural backgrounds and experience in managing external resources.
- Cultural Awareness - Experience in managing people from different cultural backgrounds ensuring clarity, collaboration and efficiency.
- Travel - Possible frequent travel during the year on a need-basis.
- Experience in managing several platforms/systems and ability to easily switch between them and keep the overview.
