Associate Director of Service Transformation and Financial Recovery/NHS and Health Associate Director wanted.

Skills needed:

NHS and Health Associate Director experience, significant senior level management experience within the NHS, delivery of service transformation and financial turnaround.

My North Wales based NHS/Health/Medical client is looking for two Associate Director of Service Transformation and Financial Recovery/NHS and Health Associate Director's for 4-6 month contracts.

The NHS/health/medical client faces a significant challenge to deliver safe, high quality services within the financial resources available. They require two highly experienced, effective leaders with a proven track record of delivery to drive service transformation and cost reduction programmes.

The Associate Director of Service Transformation and Financial Recovery/NHS and Health Associate Director role:

Surgical Services: Focussing principally upon elective care this role will transform pathways of care, ensuring best practice is adopted in terms of efficiency and productivity, and deliver financial savings to achieve budgetary savings requirements.

Medical Services: This role will have a specific focus upon unscheduled care, leading the delivery of service change and efficiency improvements within medicine in particular, which will drive performance to meet standards and release financial savings. The role will also address service transformation within medical specialties, ensuring the adoption of new pathways of care and re-assessing the balance of provision between primary and secondary care.

The Role

Key requirements of the roles are as follows:
*Working alongside the Chief of Staff to deliver safe, effective and efficient services across the client.
*Ensuring robust performance management of financial savings schemes to assure delivery within agreed timescales.
*Working with clinicians and managers within the client to identify further areas for service transformation, improved efficiency and reduced cost
*Developing and delivering new CRES proposals from the above which will address the in year budgetary deficit of the client
*Drive changes in workforce to support new models of service

*Drive efficiency improvement to optimise performance in key areas eg theatres, length of stay, to achieve performance consistent with external benchmarks of highly effective services
*Work alongside Chiefs of Staff to deliver effective job planning for Consultant staff, optimising the provisions of the welsh contract to meet the service needs of the Health Board
*Re-focus the client's operational plans to deliver key service and financial challenges within agreed timescales
*Ensure effective systems of performance management and holding to account of budget managers within the client for their financial and service delivery objectives

Knowledge and Experience
Successful candidates will have a proven track record of effective leadership and management within acute hospital settings to deliver service transformation and financial turnaround. Successful candidates are likely to have gained experience at Executive Director level within the NHS.
