ABOUT THE ROLE

Severn Trent Water employs over 5,500 people from a wide range of backgrounds including Scientists, Maintenance Workers, Contact Centre Staff, Senior Managers, Finance Analysts and Plant Operators. Supporting our end-to-end recruitment, development and deployment of new talent across the Severn Trent business is our dedicated New Talent team.

We're seeking a New Talent Consultant, working on a 12 month contract within this team, focusing on the graduate population (including our internal Fastrack programme). You will Project manage the design and delivery of our end to end graduate recruitment and development programmes, engaging with key stakeholders across the business to ensure their full support. (Recruiting up to 35 graduates per year and co-ordinating up to 65 graduates currently on the programmes)

You will develop and maintain relationships with external organisations (universities, awarding bodies, funding organisations and professional institutions); building talent pipelines as well as credibility, expertise and knowledge. You will implement continuous improvement opportunities for the programmes to ensure their suitability; measuring, monitoring and reporting on the business impact of activities completed.

Whilst focusing on Graduate recruitment, you will also support the apprentice recruitment and development programmes and our technical development programmes where necessary.

The role is based out of our flagship head office in Coventry City centre, however given the nature of the role you will be willing to travel across the UK to further education establishments to promote the graduate programmes (this may involve working evenings at times).

ABOUT YOU

We're seeking someone with previous experience in a graduate recruitment and development role, where you would have gained a good understanding and knowledge of the graduate market working, ideally from a similar sized company or programme.

This is a hands-on, end to end role where you will be working both operationally and strategically, therefore experience in the following is essential; engaging with and advising managers, coaching and behavioural development, proactive multiple supplier management and training delivery.

We're seeking someone who can work both independently and as part of a team; the ability to communicate and build relationships effectively at all levels is essential. The ability to plan, organise and co-ordinate the activities and people along with the ability to take ownership of any problems and manage to resolution is essential.

Finally, you will be of graduate calibre, ideally (although not essential) with a background in Human Resources, holding either a BPS Level A & B, coaching qualification or CIPD (or similar).
