Projektbeschreibung

Evaluate and suggest alternative manufacturing processes to meet program cost, quality, common part usage, and delivery requirements set forth by the product group. Lead the interface within/between suppliers, engineering, and purchasing to ensure the above requirements are met. Identify cost drivers during the concept phase with the design engineer and be able to identify alternate options to eliminate those cost drivers.

The candidate will also be required to analyze a suppliers (internal and external) manufacturing processes, plant layout, work sequence, fixtures/tools/equipment, and material flow to be able to identify/execute improvements that affect overall quality, manufacturability, and efficiency. Additionally, the candidate will be required to oversee multiple steps during the component development and be able to navigate through various challenges along the way to ensure the program timelines are maintained. To be successful, the candidate will have to collaborate with multiple team members and make critical trade off decisions to ensure the product group expectations are met.

This position will require extensive travel.

SKILLS:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing), Technology (Industrial or Mechanical), or equivalent work experience focused around Manufacturing.
- Minimum 8 years demonstrated experience in developing the process in any of the following fields; simple/complex machining, light/heavy fabrications (press brake, Laser/plasma cutting), welding (manual and/or robotic), non-metalic, hoses/tubes, forming/stamping
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge of setting up manufacturing processes (developing time standards), interpreting/applying GD&T, tool design, FMEA (Design and/or Process), and demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams and perform as an individual contributor to achieve project completion.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information with diverse teams, as well as, employees in other business units and suppliers.
- Ability to analyze material flow/internal logistics and identify new process and manufacturing opportunities
- Ability to navigate quickly through the purchasing systems (SAP) and identify issues needing addressed and driving resolution
- Intermediate/advanced knowledge of APQP and the ability to lead projects to drive completion of specific elements to support targeted NPI gate reviews
- Previous experience leading/supporting cost reduction initiatives
- Previous experience collaborating directly with suppliers
- Advanced communication skills (written and oral)
- Advanced negotiation skills.
- Intermediate/Advanced cost estimating skills
- Advanced process time estimation skills (ability to develop new times as well as identify gaps and how to improve)
- Advanced project management skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Previous experience in shop floor manufacturing as an engineer or supervisor, tool & die room experience
- Previous experience in a 6 Sigma role (preferably a black belt)
- Design/manufacturing experience (preferably on a new product launch).
