OVERVIEW
Due to maternity leave, this highly recognised Investment Counsel/Portfolio Management (ICPM) firm is seeking an individual for a NEW ACCOUNTS OFFICER in Calgary who can demonstrate a commitment to the core values of integrity, excellence, superior client service, and long-term vision.
The successful candidate will work with the Investment Operations team to maintain an effective control environment and ensure that processes to mitigate and manage risk are continually reviewed. A high degree of accuracy, quality, confidentiality, and integrity are essential.
The right candidate for this role will be responsible for opening new accounts for both private and institutional clients with a focus on accuracy, efficiency and adherence to compliance standards.
This position is a one year contract role for maternity leave cover.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in close cooperation with portfolio managers, portfolio manager associates and Compliance to ensure that complete and correct documentation are received for the timely creation of clients' accounts
- Maintain the highest standards of audit and compliance requirements
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and business partners (eg custodians) and identify areas of service improvements
- Identify potential risks in operational processes; develop and implement controls to mitigate risk and
increase efficiency
- Process and procedure documentation, review and maintenance
- Proactively seek to improve workflows
- Assist team manager in oversight and audit processes
REQUIREMENTS
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Sound operational and compliance judgment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Thrives in a teamwork environment with strong interpersonal skills
- Able to multi-task and prioritize; experience managing expectations and delivery of services
- Able to function well in a high pressure environment
- Commitment to 'best-in-class' client service
- Solid knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, as well as proficiency with web-based applications
- Operational mindset focusing on improving operational processes and procedures
SALARY
$45k to $50k
