Network Validation Test Technician

NETWORK VALIDATION TEST TECHNICIAN HILLSBORO, OR 12 MONTH CONTRACT

We re looking for a Validation Test Technician to work for the leading computer components manufacturer. The core responsibility is testing 10GbE hardware and Windows (NDIS) software base drivers.

JOB DUTIES:

- Ongoing maintenance/upgrading of Server and Client systems used in validation of Ethernet adapters and drivers
- Lab maintenance including Infrastructure/cable plant/Ethernet wiring/Fiber Optics
- Network Switch configuration using IOS and other CLI tools
- Switch firmware updating etc.
- Setup and configuration of operating environments including Windows Server 2008 R2 thru Server 2012 R2, Windows 7, 8, and 8.1
- Setup, configuration and use of various virtualization environments (Hypervisors) such as, Hyper-V, VMware ESX, Redhat/KVM
- Setup, configuration, and use of Windows Debuggers like KD and WinDbg
- Setup, configuration and use of protocol analyzers such as Wireshark and NetMon, including capturing traces etc.
- PCI Express protocol analyzers including capturing traces etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Validation experience required
- Networking skills specifically, Layer 1 2 and 3, understanding of OSI model, TCPIP etc.
- Network Administration, MCSE, MCP, CCNA, CCNE or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of one or more Scripting Languages, PowerShell, Python, Ruby, TCL, VBscript, Cscript
- Basic Scripting skills using Python and PowerShell required

PREFERRED SKILLS: Understanding of OS build services such as WDS, PXE, WinPE. Setup and configuration of In-Target-Probes (ITP II) Microsoft WHQL certification test suite (HCL).
