Network Transition Project Manager

My client, who is one of the top Financial Services providers in the UK, is looking for a Network Transition Project Manager to join their networks team to manage the change of Network services providers. This 6 month contract. The role is based in High Wycombe and would occasionally involve some travel to other sites my client owns.

The ideal candidate will have will have experience with the following.

Plan, Prepare and the contractual aspect of Transitional Network Services. Plus being able to engage with the business and external suppliers.

Key tasks

- Manages and delivers one or more Infrastructure related projects through the full project life cycle to support the Infrastructure portfolio covering Datacenters, Networks, End User Computing, and Telephony technologies
- Responsible for the deliverables, cost, schedule, and quality of assigned project(s)
- Develops/reviews/approves project plans, manages issues & risks, contributes to issue resolution, allocates and directs staff and other resources to accomplish project tasks, and maintains full control over all aspects of a project(s)
- Produces timely and accurate reports (project status and finance spend & forecasts) to management regarding progress, issues, risks and conflicts
- Familiarity with standard industry project methodologies to be able to follow the GMF APEX project framework
- Interfaces with senior management to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding project direction.
- To ensure on going adherence to all relevant compliance regulations that may govern the GMF business and complete all regulatory knowledge training where applicable in a timely fashion.

Skill and Experience required

- Proven technical project management experience transitioning Network services
- Experience managing large, multi-national and complex hosted infrastructure projects
- Experience of managing diverse stakeholder relationships
- Proven experience of managing Wide are network migration activities
- Experience of successfully working with outsourced partners on enterprise solutions
- Detailed knowledge of Project Management methodologies and tools (Prince, PMP, MSP, Planview, MS Project etc)
- ITIL certified, or equivalent experience
- Ability to take a common sense and pragmatic approach, allowing for compromise to successfully achieve end goals
- Outstanding communication skills in both written and spoken form
- Outstanding customer relationship management skills and strong customer service focus
- Ability to thoroughly understand the business issues surrounding each project
- Ability to communicate with senior business and vendor stakeholders
