WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE FOLLOWING RESOURCE IN SEATTLE, WA IMMEDIATELY.

NETWORK TECHNICIAN II/III (CABLING/INSTALLATION)

LOCATION: SEATTLE, WA

DURATION: LONG TERM

POSITION: NETWORK TECHNICIAN II/III

TRANSPORT INSTALLER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

The Network Transport Installer performs complex installations, AMCs, and provides as-built data to update the configuration database for circuit implementation. This also includes the de-installation and troubleshooting of equipment used to terminate and distribute Carrier and non-Carrier data and voice services to Client building and campus locations. Additionally included are the installation of devices in racks; powering of devices, running access fiber and cable, running cross-connects jumpers from fiber, coax, 66, 110 and wire-wrap DSX panels as required. Technician should be knowledgeable of the requirements to install DC and AC powered devices. The technician should be capable of connectorizing and terminating UTP, STP, and coax connections as required. The technician will terminate carrier circuits (DS0, DS1, PRI, DS3, OC-X, MetroE) to Network Transport and routing equipment. The technician will be knowledgeable of theory, operations and configuration of Fujitsu Flashwave Multiplexer system; Adtran, ADC Pairgain, Canoga Perkins and similar Channel Bank and circuit extension equipment. The technician should be knowledgeable of Timing Shelves, Asentria Alarm panels, and Netsure DC Power rectifiers. Technician should be capable of performing end-to-end circuit test from the demark to the circuit termination point through the use of Loop-back plugs, BERT and OTDR common circuit test equipment. Technician should be able to perform configuration software loads for Transport equipment as required.

The Network Technician must be able to work overtime and evenings; support on-call duties; and travel to support other regional sites as required.

- Possess an Associate's degree or equivalent experience in networking or telecommunications
- Have 5 to 10 years of Telecommunications technologies experience.
- Must be capable of utilizing information gathered from BERT and other telecommunications test equipment, packet sniffers and other sources to analyze and troubleshoot circuit performance problems.
- Must have an understanding of Voice and Data delivery technologies and able to perform in a multi-vendor environment.
- MAN technologies - DWDM, SONET, Metro Ethernet, RPR (Resilient Packet Ring)
- Knowledge in 802.11 wireless networks and microwave transmission systems technology is considered to be a plus.
- Demonstrate good customer skills, the ability to work independently to complete assignments, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Be able to provide direction and assistance to teammates.
- Have knowledge of IETF and IEEE standards, the National Electric Code, and the National Electric Safety standards.
- Have excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Possess a current driver license.
- Be able to lift 50 lb
