Network Technician

My client is looking for a Network Technician to work on a long contract based on the coast of Italy near Bari.

*Administrator - The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance and administration of the DFS LAN and WAN operations. The incumbent is responsible for managing and maintaining standard configurations, Switches, Routers, monitoring and management tools.
*Deployment Team Member - The incumbent will participate in final testing and deployment of LAN/WAN solutions as well as all related technical documentation.
*Operational Support: The incumbent is responsible for the operations tier 1 and tier 2 request fulfilment, incident resolution as well participate in the problem resolution related to LAN and WAN environment.
*Shift work as part of an extended service coverage. The incumbent will participate in the out of hours duty roster and stand-by services, as required.
*Perform other duties, as required.

Skills
*Three years of experience in operating and maintaining LAN, WAN.
*Good knowledge of Local and Wide Area Network related equipment;
*Good knowledge of network management tools and practices
*Good knowledge of content networking equipment including content switching, caching and acceleration
*Good knowledge of network security including Firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention devices and QoS-level based security mitigation
*Basic knowledge of voice and video over IP including voice transport, termination and related Quality of Services
*Basic knowledge of structured cabling including racking and mounting of network equipment
*Basic knowledge of ITIL service management methodology
*Basic interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment
*Basic written and verbal communication skills.
*Experience in drafting technical documents
*Exposure in Information Security Management System (ISMS: ISO 27001), ITIL framework and other industry standard related best practices.
*Ability to grasp complex concepts, logical and analytical approach to solving problems.
*Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision.
*Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team of diverse skills.
*Good knowledge of English (both written and verbal) is required.
*Knowledge of Italian is desirable.
