Network Technician

Network Technician opportunity with an international ICT Services organisation providing operation and maintenance support to large LAN and WAN environments.

Based in Brindisi, Italy Network Technicians will work on a long term contract basis.

Role Description;
. Administration - responsible for the maintenance and administration of the LAN and WAN operations. Network Technicians are responsible for managing and maintaining standard configurations, Switches, Routers, monitoring and management tools.
. Deployment Team Member -responsible for final testing and deployment of LAN/WAN solutions as well as all related technical documentation.
. Provide operational support, being responsible of the operations tier one and tier 2 request fulfilments, incident resolution as well as participate in the problem resolution related to LAN and WAN environment.
. Shift work as part of an extended service coverage. Network Technicians will participate in the off-hours duty roster and stand-by services, as required.

Required Skills
. Three years of experience operating and maintaining LAN and WAN in large environments
. Good knowledge of Local Area Network, and experience managing Cisco Switches, experience with Nexus technology desirable.
. Good Knowledge of Wide Area Network experience managing Cisco Routers using different routing protocols
. Good knowledge of network management tools and practice
. Good knowledge of content networking equipment including server load balancing, content switching, caching and acceleration
. Good knowledge of network security including Firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention devices
. Good knowledge of voice and video over IP including voice transport, termination and related Quality of Services;
. Basic knowledge of ITIL service management methodology;
. Experience in drafting technical documents
. Exposure in Information Security Management System (ISMS: ISO 27001), ITIL framework and other industry standard related best practices.

This is an initial 6 month contract with long term possibilities.
