Network Technician

A Network Technician is required to join an existing network team working at the Valencia office of an international ICT organisation. This is an English speaking role and requires a Network Analyst or Network Technician with three or more years of experience within LAN and WAN environments.

Network Technician responsibilities:

- You will be responsible for the maintenance and administration of the clients LAN and WAN operations
- You will be responsible for managing and maintaining standard configurations, Switches, Routers, monitoring and management tools
- You will engage in final testing and deployment of LAN/WAN solutions and provide related technical documentation
- You will be responsible for the operational tier one and tier 2 request fulfilment, incident resolution as well participate in the problem resolution related to LAN and WAN environment
- The work will be in shifts as part of an extended service coverage and you will participate in the out of hours duty roster and Stand-by services, as required
- Perform other duties, as required

The requested network experience required:

- Three years of experience operating and maintaining LAN and WAN in large environments
- Good knowledge of Local Area Network, and experience managing Cisco Switches, experience with Nexus technology desirable
- Good Knowledge of Wide Area Network experience managing Cisco Routers using different routing protocols
- Good knowledge of network management tools and practices
- Good knowledge of content networking equipment including content switching, caching and acceleration;
- Good knowledge of network security including Firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention devices and
- QoS-level based security mitigation;
- Basic knowledge of voice and video over IP including voice transport, termination and related Quality of Services
- Basic knowledge of ITIL service management methodology
- Basic interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment
- Experience in drafting technical documents
- Exposure in Information Security Management System (ISMS: ISO 27001), ITIL framework and other industry standard related best practices
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision
- Excellent knowledge of English (both written and verbal) is required
- Knowledge of Spanish is desirable
