A leading global IT Consultancy is recruiting for a Network Support Specialist to join the organisation in Rome, Italy.
As a Network Support Specialist you will be working onsite in Rome for the IT Consultancy. The contract will start of as a 3 month contract with possible extension thereafter.
In the context of the client IT Global Network and Communication group, under the supervision of the designated Officer, the Contractor will perform the following tasks:
Monitor and troubleshoot of the LAN and WAN environment: investigate link Congestion/saturation issues with the decentralised offices and follow up on link reliability issues with the Regional Integrated Service Desks. Provide remote assistance to IT Technical Officers in the field for issues related to LAN/WAN services
Use monitoring tools and be able to produce Network reports on WAN and LAN performance. Report on recurring issues to supervisor proposing recommendations such as link change or upgrade etc.
*Identify and resolve complex network problems under pressure.
*Investigate, document and assist with the implementation of new technologies;
*Design and build network labs and pilot schemes.
*Provide guidance on new architectures and technologies
*Write and maintain networking operation procedures and network diagrams.
*Contribute to the organisational IT knowledge Base.
*Support Client field office re-locations by reviewing network configurations, performing feasibility studies on suitable connectivity solutions,
*provide technical guidance/standards on requests for purchasing local ICT infrastructure (eg PBX, LAN equipment, cabling, etc.)
*perform other network related duties as required and to deliver the following expected outputs:
*All support calls are responded to in a professional manner and to agreed service levels. Performance will be measured on Average Initial Response Time and First
*Time Resolution Rates; produce Network reports on WAN and LAN performance as requested.
*All operating procedures and network diagrams are written in clear and concise English and delivered within agreed timeframes;
*The organisational IT knowledge Base is maintained up-to-date at all times.
