Network Support Engineer

Our very high-visibility client is looking for a NETWORK SUPPORT ENGINEER to help scale and maintain one of the world's largest and most complex networks. Our client's goal is to delight customers by giving them lower-latency direct connections to Web Services, bypassing the Internet.

Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, and strong project management and time management skills. The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment is essential.

AS A NETWORK SUPPORT ENGINEER YOU WILL:

- Deploy and scale the global network.
- Coordinate with on-site technicians to replace defective hardware and put the affected devices back into operations.
- Upgrade device software.
- Configure devices to enable new customer-facing features.
- Identify opportunities to simplify or automate processes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years' industry experience in configuring and maintaining network equipment
- 2+ years' industry experience configuring Cisco or Juniper Routers
- Basic Programing background (Java, C++)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Understanding of IP Networking fundamentals
- Working knowledge of BGP and OSPF
- Experience designing network and datacenter installations utilizing L2 and L3 protocols
- CCNA or CCNP Cisco certification
- Strong Unix skills and the ability to script in Perl, Shell, C or C++ desirable
- Local candidates strongly preferred

This is a 3 month contract position.
