NETWORK SERVER SPECIALIST DALLAS, TX 6 MONTH CONTRACT

An established and recognized leading HVAC Systems manufacturing and sales organization with a national presence is now accepting resumes for a Microsoft Network Server Administrator. The Administrator will report to the Director of IT. The incumbent is responsible for the administration and support of all Microsoft Server implementations including associated networks. He/she provides direct technical support for the coordination, programming and implementation of releases, upgrades and/or changes to the Microsoft operating system software, transaction monitors, and the range of products and productivity tools that support the testing and production environments relating to Microsoft computing. The individual ensures stable performance for the Microsoft environment through effective problem troubleshooting, resolution, pro-active patch management and performance tuning, capacity planning, and workload monitoring. The administrator ensures proper systems maintenance of corporate applications, 3rd party software and related network systems. Tasking includes the planning and implementation of software upgrades, ensuring change management procedures and methodologies are implemented and followed, etc.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

- Plans, coordinates, and implements all Microsoft operating system and related software
- Provides high quality support for system and network administration
- Performs network system support in HP hardware/software Microsoft operating system environments including availability, recoverability and security
- Performs 3rd party hardware and software upgrades and release planning
- Supports all server and network related problem troubleshooting and resolution
- Maintains production operations on UniTrends backup system and system recovery processes and procedures
- Internet/SQL Web integration and support
- System Performance and Tuning, Capacity Planning
- Monitors multiple project priorities
- Provides technical consultation and support to users and creates and maintains user and group accounts
- Assists with infrastructure and network improvements, upgrades, and repairs
- Installs and supports approved 3rd party software products
- Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable
- MCSE certification preferred; Palo Alto/Cisco certifications a plus
- Six to eight years of experience in server and network administration, exchange messaging, and infrastructure security
- Knowledgeable in the implementation and support of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS and LDAP services
- Excellent technical knowledge and aptitude in the areas of Microsoft Servers, IP Networks, and application file Servers, and software troubleshooting techniques
- Technical understanding of internetworking architecture, and Internet/Web computing architectures highly desirable
- Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
- Exchange 2010 experience a plus
- Experienced with Network System Protocols and Standards: Ethernet, LANs, TCP/IP, T1s, VPN, VLANs. 802.11 xs and microwave wireless experience a plus
- Microsoft SQL and application support experience preferred
- Experience in Microsoft management tools, Trend Micro or equivalent AV Systems preferred
- Experience with Wyse Thin Client and Microsoft Terminal Services
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service, listening, and questioning skills
- Manufacturing environment experience a plus
