Network Security Specialist – Milton Keynes – 3 Months Rolling

My client, a leading global IT Managed Services Provider require a Network Security Specialist to come in and work on site at a prestigious client in Milton Keynes. The specialist will be required to undertake a lead role on project implementations as well as daily support activities. The specialist should be experienced in supporting 4 or more of the following Security Products:

- Check Point
- F5
- Cisco
- Alcatel
- Bluecoat
- Fortinet
- RSA
- Sourcefire Experience of deployment and management of remote data centre based systems and a good understanding of network infrastructure. Knowledge and experience in installation and configuration of various Security products. Be able to use analytical techniques for both investigation and to produce meaningful statistical results. Leverage systems data to provide operational reporting on security compliance and status. Work with the security architect and compliance teams to maintain and enhance or defence in depth model of security for the company. Accountabilities:
- Design, technically lead, implement and document Infrastructure Security projects at an Enterprise Level.
- Capabilities in Perimeter Security, Cloud Computing, security audits and a mix of other products used by the company.
- Provide assistance and support on technical issues to 2nd line and other team members as required achieving overall benefits for the delivery of services to the company as a whole.
- Continually review and enhance existing knowledge of new technologies and assist in the development of services based on new products. The Ideal Person
- At least 10 years IT exposure, with ideally 5-7 years of this spent working in the field of networking and security
- Have an excellent understanding of security related vulnerabilities, a good understanding of forensic processes and strong technical knowledge around operating systems, architecture, controls, encryption, networking etc.
- CISSP qualified (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or working towards is desirable.
- Able to work under general direction within a clear framework of accountability.
- Able to plan, schedule and monitor work activities in order to meet time and quality targets.
- Communicates fluently and can present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Can rapidly absorb new technical information and apply it effectively.
- A good team player capable of delivering results in less than perfect circumstances.
- Visionary and entrepreneurial with a positive "can do" attitude towards the technical and commercial challenges facing the company and their customers. Milton Keynes - 3 Months Rolling - Market Rate
