Network Security Specialist

YOUR MAIN DUTIES:

- Supporting network users, applications developers and management in the use, operation and maintenance of networks by providing 2nd and 3rd level help desk support.
- Management and implementation of a large local area network, including Switches, Routers, wireless access points, wireless controllers and cabling.
- Undertaking all facets of communications support, including local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) in collaboration with local and remote users.
- Support and installation of Cisco Routers.
- Management of Firewalls, Proxy Servers, load balancers, VPN concentrators and other network appliances.
- Production of written and verbal reports.
- Contributing to the overall development and objectives of the broader team.

RELEVANT TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:

- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the capacity to communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Demonstrated experience in the support & implementation of a large operational network, including remote users.
- Demonstrated experience and willingness to work in a highly integrated team structure.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with TCP/IP.
- Extensive demonstrated experience in local area and wide area networking.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing a large LAN, Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Proxy Servers, VPN concentrators and cabling.
- Demonstrated experience in support and management of Cisco Routers, Checkpoint and Juniper Firewalls, VPN concentrators, Load Balancers and Reverse Proxy Servers.
- Demonstrated practical experience with BGP.
- Experience with diagnosing Layer 2, Layer 3 and HTTP/https related problems.
