Network Security Specialist

Our client is looking to recruit the service of an experienced Security Specialist on an initial 6 month contract with possible extension. The Security Specialist is accountable to the Manager, Security Services and is responsible for providing technical support for the ITS Security Service function and the implementation of ICT security initiatives.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Expert knowledge and experience in Network Security.
- Experience implementing, managing, configuring and monitoring security hardware (such as Firewalls, intrusion prevention/detection systems, file integrity monitoring, security information and event monitoring solutions)
- Experience in providing technical security advice and guidance in relation to ICT projects and demonstrated ability to explain complex technical or security issues to ensure that non-technical stakeholders understand the risk/security trade-offs.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

- Demonstrated experience in performing system administration and/or network management roles.
- Working knowledge of international information security standards and frameworks (eg ISO 27001).
- At least one valid industry recognised security certification, for example CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, CRISC.
- Demonstrated experience in risk management practices.
