Network Security Engineer (SC Cleared or Willing to Undergo)

OUR CLIENT, IT SOLUTIONS PROVIDER IS LOOKING FOR A NETWORK SECURITY ENGINEER FOR A 3 MONTH CONTRACT TO BE BASED IN BIRMINGHAM OR RUNCORN.

Ideally you will be SC Cleared or willing to undergo clearance.

Your responsibilities will include:

- delivery of security projects including technical design and sign-off, infrastructure build, and delivery into support
- selection, design, justification, implementation and operation of technological and information security services, products and technologies relating to any aspect of security information systems
- developing and maintaining information relating to security infrastructure devices, standards and guidelines appropriate to business, technology and regulatory requirements
- identify and implement service improvements for our customers
- plan, execute and co-ordinate moves, changes and additions to customer infrastructure within a project framework
- attendance and representation of changes to a Change Advisor Board
- assess user requirements and formulate technical specifications that are cost effective and accurately meet the identified needs of the customer
- contribute to the implementation of new and modified systems in conjunction with clients to achieve identified benefits
- implement and maintain a standard methodology for the planning and installation of infrastructure
- prepare and produce systems documentation in accordance ITIL and ISO9000 policies and procedures

REQUIRED:

- SC CLEARANCE OR WILLINGNESS TO UNDERGO THE CLEARANCE
- CCNP, CCSP (or higher) certified or equivalent
- excellent Cisco networks and security knowledge
- experience of producing detailed network designs with an emphasis on security
- Checkpoint and Cisco Firewall experience
- certification or solid practical experience in two or more major security technologies
- commercial experience of enterprise networking and security preferably within an IT service provider environment
- experience of web application Firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, end point security, hardware encryption, security audit processes & penetration testing desirable
- customer and delivery focused
- excellent communication skills
