Network Security Engineer - Leixlip

NETWORK SECURITY ENGINEER - LEIXLIP

We are currently looking for an experienced Network Security Engineer to work with our major blue chip client located in Leixlip, Ireland. Our client is a multi billion dollar world wide IT service provider.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Build and operation of large scale Network Security Infrastructure, including Firewalls, IPS, VPN, Proxy, and business partner connections.
- Work closely with the Cyber Security Incident management teams and Global Telecom support teams on mitigation efforts when required.
- Assist with resolving production escalated incidents related to IPS, Proxy, VPNs, Firewalls, and partner connections worldwide.
- Ensure all move to production and support documentation for network security devices is complete, and playbooks are updated as required.
- Proactively ensure that all security deployed devices are being monitored and running at optimal performance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams during new project implementations and ensure that the proposed designs are supportable by operations.
- Ensure that all changes to security devices are well documented per standard procedures and executed without causing any disruption to the production environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- BA or BS degree in Computer Science or Information Systems with a focus on Information Security (preferred).
- 7+ years' experience as a Network Security Engineer, with at least 3 years of related network security for a large organization.
- Experience with Bluecoat Director 510.
- Familiar with Wireshark, Tcpdump, Linux operating system
- Familiar with 3COM/HP/Procurve/Cisco Router ACLs and performing Firewall rule conversions across different vendor platforms.
- Familiar with change management processes and procedures.
- In-depth working knowledge of Checkpoint Provider-1 architecture.
- In-depth working knowledge on BlueCoat Proxy products and technologies, including content/web filtering.

EXPERT LEVEL EXPERIENCE:

- Troubleshoot access issues across multiple firewalled isolated network compartments during application migrations.
- Deployment and maintenance of Tipping Point Intrusion Prevention systems (IPS) infrastructure.
- Implement security policy changes on Cisco and Checkpoint Firewalls including global and local policies deployment.
- Deploy, maintain, and support Checkpoint UTM and Power-1 Firewall appliances running R65 VSX, R70.1, R75.40, Gaia in transparent and routed mode configurations.
- Cisco Firewalls including PIX, ASA, FWSMs and Cisco Router ACLs.
- Implementation and support of VPN, IPSEC, SSL-VPN, PKI, two-factor authentication technologies.
