Network Security Engineer Job

NETWORK SECURITY ENGINEER needed for a LONG TERM CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Redmond, WA.

Top Skills You Should Possess:
- Experience with SIEM
- Proficiency with Sourcefire

What You'll Be Doing:
- The Security Team is chartered with ensuring a strong security program by continually testing preventative, detective, investigative, and recovery programs and infrastructure.
- As a Network Security Engineer, you will need to deliver high fidelity security events to the security monitoring team, and define and drive a process to "filter out the noise."
- You will be a subject matter expert for Sourcefire and responsible for rapidly maturing network-focused intrusion detection capabilities.
- Evaluating and implementing new technologies that align with the Sourcefire platform (for example, integration of threat intelligence feeds into Sourcefire.)

What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Three (3) plus years of professional experience as a security analyst monitoring network traffic and investigating threats.
- Two (2) plus years of Operating System Administration and/or Security on Linux and Windows.
- High level of proficiency with Sourcefire administration and analysis, as well as broad network technologies.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals such as: TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, VLANs, DNS.
- Experience with SIEM tools such as Arcsight.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a complex environment
- Bonus Points! Otherwise Known As Preferred Qualifications:
- A strong candidate will have solid Windows acumen, automation and Scripting languages (Python & Powershell).
- Be familiar with industry standards in intrusion detection, and be able to dissect attacks and implement appropriate intrusion detection rules.
