Network Security Engineer

ROLE DESCRIPTION

As Network Engineer/Security Engineer you will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and integration of the corporate WAN, LAN and server architecture. You will also be responsible for implementation and administration of network security hardware and software, enforcing the network security policy and complying with requirements of external security audits and recommendations.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Performing analysis of network security needs and contributes to design, integration, and installation of hardware and software.
- Analyzing, troubleshooting and correcting network problems.
- Maintaining and administering perimeter security systems such as Firewalls and intrusion detection systems.

ESSENTIAL QUALITIES

- 2-5 years' experience
- Linux system administration experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sophos load balancers
- Virtual centers networking
- Understanding of IP routing, TCP/IP ports and services
- Different levels of the OSI model and exposure to operating systems. (Windows server and Linux)

DESIRABLE QUALITIES

- VMware, working with vCenter platform
- Nagios monitoring
- Degree level or equivalent
- Checkpoint Firewall
- Trend micro solutions
- Will have the desire to promote themselves and their team
