Network Security Engineer

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a SENIOR NETWORK SECURITY ENGINEER to join our client in the Dallas, Texas area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Research of required security patching for all Windows, Linux and VMware (ESX) Servers, coordinating scheduling and maintenance windows and VMACs.
- Provide technical guidance to help assist with adherence to industry standard practices (ISO 27001, COBIT, etc.).
- Assist with any additional internal and external audits.
- Assist with risk assessments to help determine controls and testing required to mitigate risks.
- Participate in the security incident response process (this is adhoc and will be on a needs basis).
- REVIEW AND ANALYZE SECURITY EVENTS AND ALERTS AND PROVIDE CUSTOMER WITH A HIGH LEVEL SUMMARY OF ANY ONGOING OR POTENTIAL THREATS ACROSS THE FOLLOWING
- Log data reviews (from LogLogic appliance),
- Reports from the Threat Management tool (namely QualysGuard),
- Intrusion Detection Devices (CISCO)
- Review Firewall Rules (CISCO ASA Firewalls).
- PROVIDE TECHNICAL CONFIGURATION GUIDANCE ACROSS
- Firewall configuration
- Network and Host based Intrusion Detection Systems
- Email and web browsing protection services
- Network-based Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) mitigation services
- Log management services and Threat management services
- Perform OS hardening reviews (Windows/Linux/UNIX) and recommendations.
- Perform Network based Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing Work
- Provide guidance on strengthening the security around the hosted assets (including VMWare).
- Maintain documentation around the various security services and related site specific procedures.
- Review and update Security Policies and Procedures on an on-going basis.
- Perform approval changes (Firewall changes, Users, etc.)
- Attend status meetings and perform reporting etc.
- Participate and Investigate Incident Response Processes

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

- Ability to work an 11:00 am to 8:00 pm shift - Monday through Friday
- F5 Big-IP LTM load balancing experience
- Demonstrate the ability to manage ASA 5550 Firewalls In Multi-context mode
- Interpret connectivity requirements from customer and implement Firewall rules to support that.
- NAT/PAT and VPN troubleshooting and implementation experience
- Checkpoint Firewall rule administration experience
- Solid Cisco networking skills (VRF-lite, VLAN's, Static routes, switch port configurations, etc.)
- Ability to work at end-customer office as needed. Work from client offices in the Dallas Galleria area otherwise
- Ability to work possible after-hours support and/or on-call responsibility (shared)
