Network Security Engineer

Network & Firewall Engineer to join an existing project team to develop the technical design of network components including LAN, WAN, IP telephony, video and wireless.

The ideal candidate will be tasked to deliver the following day-to-day criteria:

- Maintain an expert level technical knowledge in the required technical areas and a broader specialist base as new technologies emerge.
- Assist in the creation of designs and standards in your technical area and advise on best practice. - Assist and lead the deployment of Network Infrastructure and Application solutions.
- Assist with development of strategy in your technical area Project Delivery.
- Gather information to understand scope of project, and produce clear definition of technical deliverables with accurate estimates.
- Suggest appropriate options and recommend a chosen solution, including associated tasks (test strategies, etc) which meet operational principles.
- Build and maintain a thorough understanding of the end to end design.
- Produce, review and authorise technical and support documentation to a standard that will achieve sign-off from all necessary parties Relationship Management.
- Effectively engage with external parties, partners and suppliers Planning, Monitoring and Control.

As the ideal candidate you will have the following skills, experience, knowledge and background:

- Experience in design, build, and implementation of corporate wireless networks.
- Professional accreditation in relevant technical disciplines (eg, Cisco CCIE or Fortinet FCNSP).
- Proven ability to plan and execute workload in a dynamic environment.
- Recognised knowledge of business critical systems (ie 24/7 operations)
- Proven ability in the design and implementation of complex IP network solutions.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network faults.
- In-depth understanding of Layer-2 networks including Ethernet, spanning-tree, LACP, VLANs.
- In-depth understanding of Layer-3 networks including IP, OSPF, BGP and MPLS.
- Experience with Cisco Routers, Switches and Firewalls including 6500 series, 3750 series, ASA Firewalls.
- Experience with Juniper JunOS Switches and Firewalls, including EX series Switches and SRX Firewalls.
- Knowledge of other related products: Cisco Nexus, Cisco UCS, HP BladeCentre, VMware, Fortinet Fortigate, SourceFire IDS, F5 load-balancers.
- Knowledge of other related protocols and solutions: DNS, AD, DHCP, QoS, SNMP.
