Network Security Admin

A top financial firm in New York City is looking for a Network Security Administrator to join their team in their main office in Midtown, Manhattan.

The Net Security Infrastructure team you would be joining is responsible for managing internet service infrastructure with technologies from various vendors for web proxies, firewalls, routers, VPN gateways, load balancers and IDS/IPS.

The role would include you to use your in-depth knowledge of networking to troubleshoot and resolve connectivity and performance issues. You are expected to assist in the migration and installation of network equipment from various vendors.

Must be proficient in the following platforms: Juniper, Bluecoat & Checkpoint

This will be a 6+ month contract that they will be looking to extend or turn full time.

The rate will be based on experience, but they are looking to pay for a senior consultant.

Below is a brief description of the position:

- Configure a wide range of network equipment
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues
- Create technical documentations of configuration, migration and test procedures
- Minimum of 5+ years overall experience
- Working knowledge of web technologies, web security practices
- Ability to perform analysis of TCP captures with tools such as Wireshark, Pcap, sniffers snoop, tcpdump etc.
- Hands on experience with scripting, troubleshooting & configuration
- Ability to multitask effectively and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Ability to create technical documentation of configuration and test procedures using Word, Excel, & Visio
