Network QA Engineer

OUR CLIENT IS SEEKING A NETWORK QA ENGINEER

JOB DETAILS

- Lead testing effort for complex features which includes designing test scenarios, creating test plans, automating and executing test cases for wireless network elements
- Work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
- Reviews and verifies requirements and design specifications for validity in overall product design, with an emphasis towards product testability and verification.
- Write and execute functional, usability, coexistence, interoperability tests for the verification/validation of requirements for new and revised devices/software applications and reports results.
- Write End to End test cases and scenarios for validation of home platform and services.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering and Development teams to identify/analyze technical requirements and system architecture.
- Work with hardware and software development teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage of existing & new Home devices by verifying their quality in the Lab and simulated Home environment.
- Support certifications and trials of new devices/services.
- Analyze field issues and perform Root Cause Analysis.
- Analyze defects data and coordinates fixes across groups to resolves field issues.

REQUIREMENTS

- Ability to analyze system requirements and convert to test cases, execute scripts, select relevant test cases from a suite of pre-existing test cases
- Deep analysis of test execution results and understanding of test execution procedures
- Ability to prepare test plan, test strategy and scheduling.
- Excellent Team player with ability to progress in autonomy and will do whatever it takes to achieve fast turnaround for device certification.
- Familiarity with cable-domain, DOCSIS, TR-069 protocols,
- Solid knowledge and recent experience with current and upcoming wireless RF standards on Wireless LAN (802.11 a, b, g), Wi-Fi, ZigBee RF4CE, Bluetooth, WiMAX, EVDO, H.323.
- Consultative experience with Wi-Fi test products, setup and isolation
- Deep understanding of Wi-Fi spectrum, various channels and frequencies
- Excellent ability to analyze RF signals, interference and isolation techniques
- Good knowledge of the basic RF parameters and signal flows (frequency, power-level, modulation methods, channel widths, signal losses etc.)
- Testing tools: IXIA, Spirent, TCPDUMP or Wireshark captures analysis.
- Network Testing experience on any of these devices: CPE, STB or Routers, TR-069, Hubs, L2-L3 Switches and Routers, Relay Switches, Personal/Residential Gateways, Access Points, Load balancer, ICE device, Avalanche/Reflector.
- System Integration testing, very good troubleshooting skills.
- Some Scripting: Python, Perl Scripting, Shell Scripting, Java.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance particularly in Wireless radio technologies.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or in a related discipline.
- Network Protocol knowledge: 802.11 and WiFi.
- WiFi test & validation, DOCSIS, Routing, Networking: 3+ years.
