Network Engineer/Systems Administrator - Dublin, Ireland - (12 Month Contract)

Rate: 350+ per day for a period of up to 12 months

A Network Engineer/Systems Administrator is required to join an established government organisation responsible for promoting enterprise and growth based in Dublin, Ireland. The successful candidate will be joining an established IT infrastructure team whose main duties include managing a global network (700+ users), phone systems, Servers, computers, devices, security, helpdesk function etc.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a network engineer/systems administrator, managing and supporting a global IT infrastructure incorporating Cisco networking (LAN/WAN), Cisco Call Manager telephone systems and WiFi solutions and Firewall Technologies (VPNs, specifically Juniper).

Job Role

Management & security of the clients global network and communications systems (35+ sites), phone systems, Firewalls and server and web-hosting infrastructure
Management of Major IT infrastructure projects through design, business case development, procurement and implementation phases
Provide 2nd/3rd level expert support to Helpdesk team to troubleshoot complex network, phone, server and other infrastructure issues
Responsible for security and disaster recovery of related IT Infrastructure
Proactive system monitoring, performance evaluation, patching, upgrades, new deployments, along with appropriate change management processes
Management of related IT infrastructure risks, issues and incident resolution
Participate in the strategic development of the IT Infrastructure, identifying new opportunities, influencing decision makers and developing business cases.
Supporting and mentoring other team members, and acting as backup to other systems administrators in the Infrastructure team

Person Specification

IT degree or related discipline
Experience as a network engineer/systems administrator, managing and supporting a global IT infrastructure incorporating Cisco networking (LAN/WAN) and Cisco Call Manager telephone systems, WiFi Networks and Firewall Technologies
Integration with Microsoft enterprise solutions such as Windows Server, Windows Hyper-V and related technologies
Competent in Microsoft enterprise technologies including Microsoft Server 2008/2012, Active Directory, Microsoft Hyper-V 2008/2012, Windows 7
Proven ability to develop IT infrastructure strategies, identify new opportunities, technology enhancements, and project manage major infrastructure projects from business case through to design, procurement and implementation

Desirable

Experience of Microsoft Office 365
iSCSI Storage Area Networks, specifically Equalogic/RSA Secure ID/Citrix Netscaler/Citrix Access Gateway/Citrix Xenapp
BYOD management solutions
iOS devices
