Job Function:
Qualcomm Internet Services (QIS) team is deploying QChat PTT and next generation rich IP communications solutions. QIS is dedicated to helping our customers work and win together in this evolving mobile environment, maximizing the investments you've already made in your infrastructure and services. We offer secure, stable and scalable solutions that are based on Qualcomm's unparalleled mobility experience and technological expertise.
The QChat Client Engineer is responsible for providing direct technical support to QIS OEM partners, RAN/PDSN vendors and Tier 1 Operators as they integrate and deploy our solutions on their networks and devices.
This position requires 25% to 50% travel.
Responsibilities:
- Provide QChat client integration & development support to OEMs/RAN Vendors/Operators. Specifically, you will provide in-depth technical design, debug, and code level support to customer engineering teams.
- Exercise keen troubleshooting skills to rapidly isolate reported problems.
- Interface to cross-functional teams within Qualcomm.
- Author and review professional Technical Guides, Deployment Test Plans, Sample Code, and related product documentation.
- Technical problem resolution during test and integration phases.
- Travel to Customer/Partner (Handset/RAN vendors) sites to provide engineering training and support is also required.
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 3-4 years of engineering experience, specifically:
- Experience developing and debugging in Embedded environments is highly desired.
- Proven programming experience in C or C++ required.
- Prior experience with AMSS or MSM platforms is a plus.
- Good understanding of data protocols such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, UDP, SIP, etc.
- Troubleshooting experience for L3, L2 and L1 for CDMA/EVDO/WCDMA/LTE Networks is preferred.
- Experience with 3GPP2 specifications and mobile terminal testing using VoIP is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required, Spanish and Portuguese preferred.
- Interpersonal skills with an ability to collaboratively work with many varied teams and resolve problems spanning many disciplines.
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic, multi-tasked environment.

Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
Preferred: Master's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering
