Network Engineer (Junior and Senior)

The Network Engineer in the Infrastructure/Network department is responsible for managing the Regional Network (Belgium and Germany). The scope of the function includes request and service level management, project-contribution as well as third party management.Tasks and responsibilities:

- Service change and incident requests
- Analyse and implement change-requests in line with agreed service level
- Analyse, troubleshoot and solve incidents and problems in line with agreed service level
- Maintain and improve service level
- Implement continuous improvement tasks and perform capacity and availability management
- Manage patching and hardening of network components
- Support implementation of Audit and Security regulation improvements
- Expand and refresh the network
- Contribute to refresh, improve, standardization and modernization-initiatives and projects
- Make high-level and low-level network designs that meet requirements and allow seamless integration
- Conduct proof of concepts, business-cases and conclude upon its business value
- Third party management
- Participate to the identification, implementation and update of SLA's and KPI's for the network service
- Support outsourcing and offshoring of (new) workload-packages for installation and maintenance activities

Technical requirements:

Experience for senior Engineer

You have at least 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise environment managing a complex and international network.

Experience for junior Engineer

You have at least 1 years of experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise environment managing a complex and international network.

TECHNICAL- AND ORGANISATION-SKILLS:

- Design, implementation and maintenance of network components/technologies:
- TCP/IP Networking, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), security mechanisms (IPSec)
- Switches, Routers, Firewalls, content Switches/load-balancers and VPN concentrators
- practical experience with Cisco, F5, Nexus, Checkpoint and Riverbed technology
- integration of private and public cloud technology (IBM Bloomix, Azure, Amazon)
- Integration of services provided by local and global network providers in an enterprise network
- Outsourcing and/or offshoring of network activities including service quality follow-up
- Good knowledge of Scripting languages such as Perl, Python and PHP

Methodology/Certification requirements:

- You have at least a Bachelor diploma and 3 years of experience in a similar function
- You are able to integrate your technical knowledge and skills in an environment that is highly regulated and subject to different ITIL based processes (Change Management, Incident Management, Asset Management... ).

Language Requirements:

- You are fluent in English (speaking and writing) and speak Dutch.
