Project Description:

The overall responsibility of the Private Video Management Service (PVMS) Operations associate is to remotely manage a video management and distribution infrastructure platform and provide Tier 4 support. In support of this platform, the associates are responsible for troubleshooting and analysis, fault resolution, configuration management, change management and performance management.

The job requires strong technical Skills that may cross multiple functions including networking, Servers, applications and tools. This highly visible position demands very strong technical professionals and will interface directly with external clients, 3rd party vendors, and internal/external technical teams.

Responsibilities:

Duties will range from but not limited to managing Servers, network devices, and applications, verifying utility outputs, and installing patches and software upgrades. The associate will support platform planning and associated software releases. This will include active participation in requirements review and submittal, development and execution of test cases, deployment of new releases for Live streaming, Video on Demand streaming and portal functions of the platform. A flexible work schedule is required, and out-of-hours support will be needed. The associate will also be responsible for development of documentation for change management, and potential execution of changes in maintenance windows.

Required Skills/Competencies:

5-10 years experience with networking, DB Servers, applications and tools

Experience with Routers, Switches and layer 4/load balancing equipment from various vendors

Strong technology background with a comprehensive knowledge of PC and/or Mac applications and network based products

System Support and Trouble Analysis skills (root cause analysis, alarm management platforms, troubleshooting, etc.)

Proficient in web-based technologies, including HTML, CSS, HTTP, SSL, FTP

Proficient in Java

Familiarity and working knowledge with JavaScript, jQuery, Dojo, Adobe Flash, Microsoft Silverlight, and API developer support experience

Meaningful experience with more than one of the following products:

Windows desktop Operating Systems, Windows server Operating Systems, Network Load Balancing, MS Cluster Server/Multi-vendor Cluster and SAN implementations, SQL, IIS, ISA.

Familiarity and working knowledge with rich media and mobile applications

Familiarity and working knowledge of CDN networks, Live Video and VOD applications

Understanding of Change Management Life Cycle Principles Desired

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in Engineering, Computer Sciences or other technical field

Experience in Network administration/support

Server & System Administration skills

Knowledge of Analysis Tools

Hardware installation and repair skills

Knowledge of OSI network protocol design

Prior experience with a large ISP or Service Provider

Experience using and writing technical documentation

Experience/working knowledge of Live Streaming Video and VoD applications
