For a project at our clients' site in Bern, we are looking for a
NETWORK ENGINEER - CISCO/WAN (5466)
In this role, you will assist with the design and implementation of Wide Area Networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- EXPERT KNOWLEDGE OF NETWORK WAN/LAN AND STRONG KNOWLEDGE OF TRUSTED INTERNET CONNECTION (TIC), DMVPN, NETWORK VIRTUAL SWITCHING, LOAD BALANCING, AND WAN ACCELERATION DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION USING CISCO
- ADVANCED EXPERIENCE IN DESIGNING AND CONFIGURING ALL TYPES OF CISCO HARDWARE AND IOS
- Extensive experience with interior and exterior routing protocols with ADVANCE KNOWLEDGE OF BGP AND MPLS
- Knowledge and experience managing LAN switching environments with VLANS, Spanning Tree, VTP, Ether channel, etc.
- Knowledge and experience managing WAN environments with WAN protocols such as Frame Relay, HDLC, PPP, Multi-Link PPP, T1, DS3, MPLS, etc.
- Experience with network security platforms and technologies such as PIX, IPS/IDS, IDSM2, etc.
- FLUENT IN ENGLISH, GERMAN IS A BIG PLUS
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Duties include leading enterprise network engineering solution design whiteboard sessions for the DHS WAN/LAN and data center accounts
- Assist with the design and implementation of Wide Area Networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks
- Perform network modelling, analysis, and planning and may be responsible for researching and recommending network and data communications technologies, as well as preparing cost estimates and network designs specifications
- Whiteboard unique customer solutions to verify network and load balancing requirements for the WAN
- Gain an understanding of how the DHS Trusted Internet Connection (TIC) functions, how it is put together and how to migrate customers into complexion solutions
- Duties include leading enterprise network engineering solution design whiteboard sessions for the DHS data center account
- Understand Cisco, Juniper VPN, DMVPN switch topology or become familiar quickly upon arrival
