Network Engineer - CCNP, Cisco

Great opportunity for a Network Engineer to join the Network team at leading Media company. This is an initial 6 month contract with serious potential to be extended. This is a very fast passed environment, within a large Media organisation based in the CBD. The right candidate will display ability to multi- task and work under pressure.

Responsibilities:

- Complete assigned tasks and projects in data network support or projects, including network connections, equipment upgrades, network implementation and configuration as directed by senior network staff and/or the Development Manager.
- Provide assistance, until assigned projects have been transitioned to Support, as directed in maintaining and supporting the data networks to agreed service levels and procedures.
- Manage own workload to achieve results to agreed standards and within agreed time frames; provide regular progress reports.
- Maintain effective communication with IT development managers and stakeholders; escalate issues and risks promptly to facilitate speedy resolution and maintain agreed timelines for completion; undertake knowledge transfer sessions to team members and IT personnel, as required, throughout the project.
- Present deliverables in line with company documentation standards and practices, and documentation templates provided, with specific reference to technical specifications and system documentation. As part of implementation processes, ensure appropriate reviews are undertaken by both peer and key stakeholder groups.

Requirements:

- Tertiary or industry qualifications in a data communications related field eg Bachelor IT or Elect Eng, CCNA, CCNP and/or relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of data communications and CISCO networking equipment in a complex national networked environment.
- Experience in the support and configuration of a data communications network of similar.
- Experience in Ethernet and TCP/IP, and data networking devices such as CISCO Switches, Routers and Firewalls.
- Knowledge of project management and project management methodologies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex network technology concepts to non-technical staff.
- Proven experience with Cisco Switches, Routers & Firewalls, Cisco Unifies Communications manager, Cisco NMs, CUC etc would be highly regarded.
