Network Engineer (Access and Transport) Job

NETWORK ENGINEER (ACCESS AND TRANSPORT) needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Denver, CO.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Responsible for testing and integration of multiple vendor products into client's Transport and Access network.
- Member of a team of engineers responsible for Product Development and Testing.
- Ability to accomplish activities related to system design, equipment configuration and installation, integration, testing and service validation prior to commercial deployment.
- Support vendors with product and service requirements based on Charter business needs and internal customer requests.
- Develop documentation related to design and proper configuration of system components.
- Troubleshoot and analyze transport, networking and software configurations.
- Provide briefings and project status reports to senior management.
- Perform other duties as directed by senior management.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- BSEE or equivalent experience
- Strong technical skills working knowledge of IP routing, Switching, MPLS, and VPLS technologies
- Hands on work in a lab or cable system environment are required to validate test plans and configurations before service deployment
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex data
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management and company personnel
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
- Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
- Ability to show judgment and initiative and to accomplish job duties
- Knowledge of cable and telecommunications products and services
- Knowledge of IP Routing and ISIS routing protocol
- Knowledge of network design, architecture, protocols and topology
- Expertise with MPLS and LDP
- Expertise with MPLS L2 VPN's, MPLS L3 VPN's
- Expertise with L2TPv3 technology
- Expertise with DOCSIS technology, Cisco 10K.
- Expertise with Business Services over DOCSIS
- Expertise with Cisco ASR9K (IOS-XR)
- Expertise with Cisco 7600 and Ethernet Services modules (IOS)
- Expertise with IXIA/Spirent Test sets
- Expertise with MEF Architectures and Specifications
