Network Engineer

NETWORK ENGINEER - AMSTERDAM - €410P/D

A telecommunications company is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join their Virtualisation team as soon as possible. The role will initially be 6 months with an option to extend.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

- Fluent in English
- Experience in Windows environments
- Basic Linux understanding with the willingness to learn
- Experience in monitoring and scheduling systems is a plus (Nagios, Spectrum, Grafana, Splunk, Cronacle)
- Experience in working with ticketing systems (preferably Remedy and/or Jira)
- Understanding of Incident, Change, Problem, Release Management (ITIL) processes
- Process minded and precise. Accurate documentation and (English) writing skills
- Good troubleshooting, deep-dive investigation skills
- Good communication skills and understanding of various cultures
- Attention to detail, conscientious and persistent
- Flexible, team player

Desirable Skills:

- Tomcat/Apache knowledge
- Knowledge of Unix including Shell Scripting and system administration work
- Knowledge of Oracle (9i or higher) including SQL and PL/SQL expertise and some DBA knowledge
- Knowledge of Clarify, Arbor, Tuxedo, Vitria, WebLogic
- Interface/application/web Servers knowledge (important processes, logs)
- E2E knowledge on telecom Service Provider organizations
