Projektbeschreibung
A Fixed Network Technical Lead is part of an engineering team delivering a suite of next generation Fixed/Mobile converged and cloud based propositions including SIP trunking, IP Centrex solutions, xDSL and other SIP based products.
As a technical lead is part of cross functioning projects team they must be an effective communicator able to explain complex concepts and ideas to both technical and non-technical individuals.
THE TECHNICAL SCOPE OF A NETWORK LEAD
- Broad Fixed Network skills
- Advanced Router and Telephony services
- IPPBX
- SIP/ISDN
- TCP/IP
- LAN/WAN
- Access Technologies
- xDSL (aDSL, VDSL, FTTH)
- ISDN/PSTN
- Remote Network management of CPE family (TR069, 104, 111, SNMP etc)
- Extensive protocol, diagnostics and problem solving skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as Technical Lead translating Business propositions into Technical solutions for relevant aspects of the E2E Technical Architecture
- Responsible for the design, build, test and transition into operational support of new/updated network nodes and CPE devices and their respective services.
- Support rapid proof of concept to validate important business ideas and/or requirements
- Work stream management (Basic Project Management skills)
- Interoperability with Telco Infrastructure (SIP, ISDN, POTS, PBX), Network Infrastructure
- Access Network- (aDSL. VDSL, FFTH)- Network Services (NAT, DNS, AAA, DHCP), Network (SBC, IMS, NGIN, IP Centrex)
- Ensure CPE meets all technical and regulatory requirements for Ireland
- Technical contact for current and future CPE vendors (eg Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent) and other third parties vendors
- Provide technical ownership for delivery of Fixed Network project requirements.
- Define CPE Integration, Testing and Performance requirements with test lead.
- Ensure CPE meets performance and stability requirements defined by the business.
- Define operational support for monitoring, incident and fault management
- Identify and develop solutions for CPE life cycle maintenance including acquisition of new device types and firmware upgrades.
- Support test lead in execution of E2E testing.
- Coordinate with central Group Programme & other OpCo's Network teams to ensure alignment and learning from best practice across definition, implementation, launch and maintenance
- Working with the VF Security team ensure the security integrity of the CPE against fraud and abuse
