Our client, a leading Consulting, Technology and Outsourcing company are currently recruiting for an experienced Network Engineer for a contract based in the UK and Dublin.

The successful candidate will join the Network team in our client's Global organization. The team deliver mission critical services to the business and enable customers to transact on our client's products. You will be part of a high performance team, who deliver a stable, secure and scalable service, in accordance with ITIL best practise.

Network Engineer's are responsible and accountable for the implementation and support of our client's secure multinational network, both data centre based, but also global. You will have experience of working in high impact, mission critical environments where service matters and exceeding expectations is the norm. You will be a good communicator and able to work across multiple stakeholder groups, providing clear and concise problem definitions as well as prompt resolutions. You will be familiar with a variety of testing tools, networking technologies and techniques to accurately troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems associated with in the service, application and network hardware and software.

Candidate's applying for the position must be prepared to travel as the role will be based in the UK for initially for a short period but then it will require travel to Dublin for the remainder of the assignment.

Accommodation expenses will be paid during the week whilst staying in Dublin and flights when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

- Must have excellent experience in planning, designing, and maintaining enterprise-class networks, preferably supporting an E-commerce application development environment.
- ITIL Service Management
- Experience and SLA Reporting experience.
- Must have considerable knowledge of large production Wide Area Networks.
- This role requires a strong background in Layer 2, Layer 3 & Layer 4routing and switching technologies.
- Scrum and KanBan Methodology experience.
- Adhere and maintain network and company standards and documentation, including risk registers, design documents and asset lists.

SKILLS/TECHNOLOGIES INVOLVED

The candidate should have a command of the following technologies:

- BGP and OSPF routing
- Multi-homed load balancing and traffic engineering for automatic failover
- Use of policy maps for routing
- MPLS, IPSEC VPN, Firewalls and TACACS authentication
- Wireless, VOIP and Security technologies
- Load balancing and application content switching
- Experience with Lancope Stealthwatch, Tufin, Infoblox NetMRI/IPAM, eHealth, Spectrum, Rancid

Knowledge of the following products is required:

- Cisco Catalyst and Nexus switching lines
- Cisco ASR and ISR Routers
- Citrix Netscalers
- Juniper Netscreen, Cisco ASA Firewalls and PIX
- Network Security products (Firewall, IPS, DLP)
- Arista Switches
- Fortinet Firewalls
- Capable of providing 24x7 on call support as appropriate
- Desirable Skills & Experience
- DDOS mitigation techniques and technologies
- Operate autonomously without supervision
- Lead design discussions and product life cycle roadmaps
- Minimum Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). Equivalent demonstrable experience and knowledge will be considered.
