Network Engineer

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a NETWORK ENGINEER to join our client in New York, NY.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install all new hardware, systems, and software for networks.
- Install, configure, and maintain network services, equipment and devices.
- Supports administration of Servers and server clusters.
- Manages all system back-up and restore protocol.
- Plans and supports network and computing infrastructure.
- Perform troubleshooting analysis of Servers, workstations and associated systems.
- Documents network problems and resolution for future reference.
- Monitors system performance and implements performance tuning.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, email, anti-virus, anti-spam.
- Oversee software and network security.
- Responsible for ensuring that the network has been customized to satisfy a customer's wants and needs.
- Responsible for adding programs, software and hardware that a company might need while working.
- Keeps a keen eye on the network performances.
- Solves any problems that arise in within the network, such as crashing.
- Develop and install data retrieval system; these are the emergency systems.
- Maintain the emergency systems.
- Record problems that computer users face, and how best to solve the problem for other future references.
- Control access to the network.
- Install security programs to prevent unauthorized access to privileged data and information.
- Updating security programs and frequent changing of passwords.
- Customizes networks to meet client's needs.

Job Qualifications:
NETWORK ENGINEERING SKILLS:
- Cisco ios Switches and Routers.
- Cisco nxos Switches.
- Cisco asa Firewalls.
- Routing: static, BGP, OSPF, RIP, vrfs, vdcs.
- Multicast routing: pim, igmp (probably not necessary for web stuff).
- Switching: VLANS, private VLANS, svi's, trunking, vpc.
- Firewalls: access control, contexts.
- Load balancing: hardware and software solutions.

LINUX/UNIX ADMINISTRATION EXPERIENCE:
- Config/install, server maintenance, remote syslogging, ntp, NFS, network configuration including nic bonding and dynamic/static routing, host based ids/Firewalls, clustering, monitoring, and Backups.

WINDOWS ADMINISTRATION EXPERIENCE:
- Config/install, server maintenance, logging, monitoring, nic bonding/teaming, host based ids/ips/Firewalls, clustering, and backups.

DATABASE EXPERIENCE:
- Installing/maintaining MySQL, SQL server, troubleshooting, queries, clustering, and backups.

VIRTUALIZATION SKILLS:
- Esxi, kvm.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
- Load balancers, Waf's, Akamai or other cdn familiarity, Traffic analysis, and Security mitigation.
- Strong analytical abilities and professional office experience needed.
- Requires a thorough knowledge of networking essentials.
